If you are low on energy, then the first three are the commonly available methods of building energy.
Exercise:You can exercise and make your body more efficient in things like insulin usage and glucose uptake. You will get more energy as a result, but that can be difficult to do if you have poor exercise habits, or if you are already fatigued. An excellent pathway for building energy through exercise is kung fu. Other areas of physical exercise are also suitable.
Nutrition: You can eat better. Whole, unprocessed foods to control your glycemic index. Vitamins. Nutrient rich rather than nutrient starved foods.
Rest: Well, it should be obvious that if you’re not sleeping or resting, you are going to create a gradually decaying energy cycle for yourself. To restore yourself if you are fatigued because of irregular sleep, you'll need to get back to a normal sleep cycle. If it is not possible for you to restore normal sleep, then you'll need to compensate for it as best as you can.
There are limits as to how much you can exercise, how well you can eat, and how much you can sleep. Once you’ve reached those limits, you can’t get any more energy out of those practices. That’s it. There is no more energy there. The ONLY other place to make energy gains is with Qi, and those gains can be Easy and HUGE.
What is qi, and why is it important?
In simple terms, qi is a Chinese word for the stuff that makes you go. It is often translated as “energy” into English, but that is because there is no good translation. Qi is your ability to do things. It is needed to keep the cells in your body alive, and to go about living. Without it, two things happen:
- Your cells function badly and die. So you become physically weak, and prone to sickness and injury.
- You stop being able to do what you want.
Check your own experience. Notice how those two things are ALWAYS CHAINED TOGETHER for anyone having energy problems? That’s because they’re both due to a lack of qi.
Humans absorb most of their qi from their surroundings. We have a natural ability to do so. Part of that qi is absorbed directly using a qi absorbing mechanism within you, almost like a sponge sucking up water. Part of that qi is harvested from the foods you eat. The study of absorbing qi from food stuffs is something called energy herbalism. Using herbs to build energy is the oldest form of herbalism, and came long before medical herbalism.
